Bored Cast-in-Situ Pile Testing
Residential High-Rise
Location: Kolkata, West Bengal
A multi-tower residential complex required verification of over 80 bored piles before the superstructure work commenced. We conducted a combination of Low Strain Pile Integrity Tests (PIT) and Cross Hole Sonic Logging (CSL) tests to assess pile continuity and concrete quality. Two piles showed anomalies that were subsequently rectified, preventing potential structural risk before casting of the pile cap.

High Strain Dynamic Pile Load Test (PDA)
Infrastructure Bridge
Location: National Highway, Jharkhand
For a new vehicular bridge on a national highway, the client needed to verify the load-carrying capacity of 12 driven precast piles before committing to the full piling programme. We conducted PDA tests and CAPWAP signal matching analysis to confirm that the piles achieved the required design capacity, and provided a detailed report accepted by the project consultant and government authority.

Location: Haldia, West Bengal

Structural Condition Assessment
Existing Office Building
Location: Salt Lake, Kolkata
A 20-year-old commercial office building was being evaluated for change of use to a heavier occupancy. The building owner needed an independent assessment of structural health. Our team carried out UPV testing, Rebound Hammer surveys, Carbonation Tests, and a Cover Meter assessment across all columns, beams, and slabs. The report identified areas of significant carbonation depth and reinforcement with inadequate cover, and provided a prioritized remediation plan.

Concrete Quality Verification
Metro Rail Project
Location: Eastern India
During construction of an underground metro station, the project management consultant appointed SGTPL as the third-party testing agency. We conducted systematic UPV testing and Rebound Hammer testing on all cast structural members — columns, walls, and roof slabs — to verify concrete quality at each stage of construction. All test records were maintained in a structured quality control register submitted to the project authority.

Structural Load Testing Projects
Bridge Load Test
Rural Road Bridge
Location: Bankura District, West Bengal
A newly constructed single-span concrete bridge on a rural road network required a load test before formal handover to the district authority. We designed and executed a vehicle load test using calibrated trucks, measured deflections at mid-span and quarter-span using precision LVDTs, and compared measured responses against theoretical predictions. The bridge passed all acceptance criteria and was handed over on schedule.

Slab Load Test
Parking Deck Verification
Location: New Town, Kolkata
A multi-level car park structure required slab load testing on the roof deck before opening to vehicle traffic. We applied test loads incrementally and measured deflection response, confirming that the slab performed within the design deflection limits under full imposed load. The test was witnessed by the structural engineer of record and the client’s project manager.

Third Party Pile Report Review
Commercial Tower
Location: Rajarhat, West Bengal
A developer received pile test reports from their contractor but had concerns about the quality of the testing methodology and the interpretations provided. SGTPL was appointed to independently review all PDA reports and CAPWAP analyses. Our review identified several non-conformances in the testing procedure and questionable signal matching results. A detailed review report was submitted, leading to re-testing of five piles.
